Founded in 1975 by John Fentener van Vlissingen, BCD Group has grown into a global market leader in the travel industry. Every day, thousands of customers count on our travel services, advice, support and technology through our companies BCD Travel, Travix, Park ‘N Fly and Airtrade.

What’s now a global market leader in the travel industry started as a small company, founded by John. A. Fentener van Vlissingen with a capital of just US$10,000. Today, BCD Group employs 14,900 committed, creative and experienced people in 109 countries worldwide. The company achieved year-over-year growth and ended 2018 with US$29.9 billion in sales.

2012

BCD Travel celebrates its 25th anniversary with special jubilee events.

2011

Merger of Cheaptickets, Vliegwinkel, Vayama, BudgetAir and Flugladen into ‘Travix’; acquisition of EasyToBook.com by Travix.

2006

Acquisition of multinational TQ3 Travel Solutions Management Holding GmbH and The Travel Company. Merging these two companies with WorldTravel BTI, BCD Travel becomes the 3rd largest travel management company in the world.

2005

BCD Group celebrates its 30th anniversary with special jubilee events.

2003

John A. Fentener van Vlissingen is honoured as “Dutch Travel Manager of the Year”.

1995

Acquisition of Rottink Travel Group, a travel company with 50 travel agencies in the Netherlands and sales of US$ 90 million.

1990

Acquisition of TRX (at the time named Travel Technology Group, Dallas, Texas) for US$ 80,000.

1988

Acquisition of Park ‘N Fly, an off-airport parking operation that operates parkings with 10 locations near major airports in the USA.

1987

Acquisition of WorldTravel Advisors, a business travel agency in Atlanta with 14 offices and sales of US$ 50 million.

1980

Opening of the first USA office in downtown Atlanta (Georgia).

1976

Opening of the first office in the SHV building in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

1975

On September 4, John A. Fentener van Vlissingen founded BCD Holdings (which is now BCD Group) with a founding capital of US$10,000 and 2 employees.
