Travix appoints new CEO

The Netherlands/Amsterdam, 23 January 2013 – International online travel company Travix International BV is appointing John Mangelaars as its CEO effective 1 February 2013. A new position at the online air ticket sales and hotel reservations specialist, whose brands include CheapTickets, BudgetAir, Easytobook, Vayama, Vliegwinkel and Flugladen.

John Mangelaars: “I am looking forward to sharing my passion and knowledge with the team and to working together to put the brands on the map internationally”. John worked at Microsoft for over 20 years, specializing in recent years in the sales and marketing of the online products MSN Messenger, Hotmail and Bing.

Years of experience

“John’s years of experience will help Travix and the existing leadership team to take the steps necessary to becoming a worldwide e-commerce specialist”, said Joop Drechsel, chairman of the Travix Supervisory Board and CEO of BCD. Travix is active in 19 countries, with 700 employees and annual sales of more than US$ 2 billion.
