Travix reinforces position in online travel industry by purchasing EasyToBook.com
Utrecht, The Netherlands, 19 August 2011 – Travix, the largest Dutch online travel company and daughter company of BCD Holdings NV, is acquiring EasyToBook.com, an international hotel booking website.
Travix is the parent company for five online travel brands, including CheapTickets (Europe & Asia), Vliegwinkel.nl (Netherlands), BudgetAir (United Kingdom & France) and Vayama (USA & Canada). By acquiring EasyToBook.com, an international hotel reservation portal with more than 100,000 hotels worldwide, Travix will expand its already extensive product line to include international hotels and packages.
This represents a major step forward for Travix, which has built a solid reputation in the online travel industry by offering discounted airfares with its brands in Europe, North America and Asia. With the acquisition of EasyToBook.com, each Travix brand will become a one-stop shopping destination for travelers seeking great deals in airfare, hotels and packages. Now, travelers can entrust their entire trip to Travix.
“With the purchase of EasyToBook.com, Travix gains valuable access to exclusive hotel rates globally”, said Raymond Vrijenhoek, President of Travix. “Exclusive content is king in our industry and this acquisition allows us to accelerate the introduction of dynamic packaging, which enables travelers to combine airfare and hotels to get the best prices.”
EasyToBook.com is a rapidly growing international hotel booking website, founded in 2004. The company has offices in Switzerland, The Netherlands and in Israel. The organization has 65 employees. This year EasyToBook.com sold over 1 million overnight stays.
