Increased investment Travix
Zeist, The Netherlands, 16 February 2016 – The family J.A. Fentener van Vlissingen is increasing its investment in online travel company Travix International B.V., buying out all minority shareholders with the exception of ING Corporate Investments.
Travix was established in early 2011 by merging the online brands Vliegwinkel, CheapTickets, BudgetAir, Flugladen and Vayama.
Majority shareholder BCD Group and investment partner ING Corporate Investments see great potential to grow Travix. Joop Drechsel, CEO BCD Group and chairman of Travix’s Supervisory Board: “Travix now has over 35 websites and is active in more than 30 countries.
200 ticketing requests per second
At peak times, we receive around 200 ticketing requests per second and book 25 tickets per minute. By simplifying our shareholders structure, we can respond even quicker to the needs of our customers in the dynamic market of online travel.”
Vliegwinkel and CheapTickets
Through its brands Vliegwinkel and CheapTickets, Travix is the market leader in the Netherlands and Germany. The online travel company has almost 450 employees and offices in the Netherlands, Germany, India, Singapore and the United States. More than 2.5 million passengers fly via Travix annually, to more than 500 destinations across the globe.
